LaFleur Interviews for Titans Head Coach
January 19, 2018 11:15 PM | Myles Simmons
Rams offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur interviewed for the Titans head coaching vacancy, Tennessee announced on Friday.

LaFleur is one of three candidates the Titans have announced they've interviewed this week since parting ways with Mike Mularkey. The others are Texans defensive coordinator Mike Vrabel and Panthers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks.

After spending a pair of years as Atlanta's quarterbacks coach, LaFleur joined head coach Sean McVay's staff in Los Angeles last winter and had a significant impact on quarterback Jared Goff's second-year development. Though LaFleur did not call plays, he was integral in game planning and installation for the Rams in 2017.

Los Angeles finished the year No. 1 in scoring, No. 10 in total yards, No. 8 in yards rushing, and No. 10 in yards passing en route to winning the NFC West. Goff completed 62.1 percent of his passes for 3,804 yards with 28 touchdowns and just seven interceptions.

The Rams have already had one member of their 2017 coaching staff depart for a promotion this offseason, as former quarterbacks coach Greg Olson accepted the role of offensive coordinator with the Raiders under head coach Jon Gruden. L.A. promoted assistant wide receivers coach Zac Taylor to QBs coach to fill the void internally. Taylor previously coached quarterbacks with the Dolphins from 2013-2015 and served as Miami's interim offensive coordinator in his final year with the club.
